Below is a message from John Thompson. An email with the same info will go out as soon as we can figure out an efficient way to do that. Hello Church Family, This message comes to you this evening following a full day of assessment and inspection of our facilities. Lee, Gary Neal, John Lander and I met today with a structural engineer as well as representatives from our conference and have some great news to share. As far as the current state of our facilities: -We have been green tagged for full usage of the Bonner building and Adams hall. This means that our ministries in these buildings are free to commence immediately. If you have contact for any of the AA, NA, Or any other self help groups please pass on the news that we are open for business. We would also appreciate some help from these groups to possibly clean up their respective meeting places as the building has just been approved for occupancy and nobody has had a chance to clean. -Our office wing, which consists of the church office, Lees office and the choir rooms upstairs have been yellow tagged. This means that they are to be entered only by staff for official business and others upon approval from Lee or Dianne for clean up. -Our historic building has been red tagged. This means it is not to be entered until further notice by building inspectors and engineers. This consists of the sanctuary, fellowship hall, parlor and our parking lot. Please find parking off site for any meetings etc. Entry to bonner building should be through the Franklin St. doors by the triangle park. Both entrances from the parking lot should not be used at this time. Representatives from our Methodist denomination were present today and have informed us of our future as far as repairs are fiscally concerned. We are a self insured denomination as far as disaster coverage. This means that our standing in the Cal-Neva conference and National conference as a member church that pays our apportionments we are entitled to funds for restoration and repairs. The best news so far is that upon initial inspection we will be able to save our stained glass and restore our sanctuary to its former glory. Im including a few photos of that sacred space to share the destruction we have found. I hope that these images will satisfy any curiosity and keep ANYONE from entry to the red tagged spaces under any circumstances. Im confident that with hard work and a lot of faith we will be able to worship together again in our glorious sanctuary. Its just gonna take awhile. Asbury room looks to be our temporary service space. Details to follow after church council meets tonight. With relief and love, John Thompson
