Betrayal comes from one’s own want of a certain outcome, and is more likely to come from someone who is or could be close to you. Let’s take a look at Matthew 26:14. Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests, 15. And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver. 16. And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him. That betrayal may also be that one kiss of death. Matthew 26:48 Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast. 49. And forthwith he came to Jesus (Judas did) and said, Hail, master; and kissed him. Judas had no idea that Christ already knew he was going to do it! John 13:21. When Jesus had thus said, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me. Keep your mind(heart) on the Lord for He knows all and is all knowing even before you can think it, say it, or do it, you are at all times in FULL view of Him. II Timothy 2:15 So study (read the Bible) to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 16. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. So through Christ you may acquire spiritual discernment which will help in knowing someone’s motive, stay with and follow your gut it may just be the Spirit speaking to you.
