Bharat Ratna is awarded to Atal Behari Bajpayee, an iconic political figure beyond any doubt. We all should congratulate him for the award. In this backdrop, some introspection of past events enlightens us about his tenure. The two most greatest symbols of Indias democracy and sovereignty are the Parliament and the Red Fort. Parliament is the highest law making body of elected representatives of the people of India while the National Flag is hoisted on every Independence Day to honour Netajis wish to hoist the Tri-colour in the Red Fort. Moreover, Red Fort witnessed the political journey of India for the last 300 years till its Independence. It is ironic that those two monuments of Indias democracy and sovereignty were attacked during the tenure of Atal Behari Bajpayee!! DESPITE ALL THESE, BAJPAYEES BECOMING THE PRIME MINISTER AND BEING CONFERRED WITH THE BHARAT RATNA THOUGH HE ACTED AGAINST THE QUIT INDIA MOVEMENT DOES TELL THE BROAD SUCCESS STORY OF INDIAS GREAT DEMOCRACY AND ITS DEMOCRATIC VALUES !!!
