Birthday remembrance to Willie Hutch (December 6, 1944 – September 19, 2005). He was was an American singer, songwriter signed to Motown records, as well as a record producer. In 1969 he started writing & producing for The 5th Dimension, then got signed to their label RCA, releasing two albums before being discovered by Motown. He first wrote the lyrics to Ill Be There, a hit song for The Jackson 5. He produced the soundtrack to the blaxploitation film, The Mack. Hutch had several R&B hits during this period, including Brothers Gonna Work It Out, Sunshine Lady and Slick. I think one of Motowns most underrated artists, his other hits included, Keep The Fire Burning (Gwen McCrae), Love Power, In & Out, Party Down . GARY
