Bit long, but very interesting, motivating and informative. The pen was commanded to write, everything until the day of judgment. It wrote and wrote... It wrote that Adam would be created, that he would inhabit paradise, and be expelled. It would write that Noah would build a ship that would deliver him and a few of those who believed in him to safety from flood that would drown the height of mountains, It wrote of a mother in fear yet with unbelievable courage, placing her baby in a basket in the river, and that baby growing under the watchful eye of his Maker, to save his people from unspeakable horrors. It wrote David would have a son named Solomon, and that he would be carried by the wind, and that he would have a kingdom the likes the pen would not write for anyone after him. It wrote of a miraculous birth under a date palm tree, a baby speaking to his mothers accusers, his first words were written then, I am the slave of Allah, He gave me the book and made me a prophet. His name was written, Jesus the son of Mary, and that he would be marked for death, and it was written everything that people would say after him. It wrote of elephants at the head of a mighty army that kneeled, refusing to march forward no matter how much their masters pushed them. It wrote of that army looking up towards the sky seeing a flock of birds above them. It wrote of Muhammad the orphan, who became the shepherd who became the merchant, who became the prophet. It wrote the names of his enemies, it wrote the names of those who would follow him and be his companions. How blessed are they that their names be written by his. It wrote of those who would come after them, heroes and cowards, scholars, knights, poets, kings, worshippers, villains, criminals, and everyone in between. It wrote of incredible heights and feats by his Ummah; Tariq ibn Ziyad entering a land that would capture imagination for 7 centuries, Salahuddin a stones throw away from Jerusalem, Imam Ahmad emerging from prison the most famous man in the world. It wrote of incredible lows, the accusation of Aisha, the killing of Umar, the sacking of Baghdad, Colonization and the world that would come to be... It wrote of paralyzing fear and extraordinary courage, it wrote of pain, and love, loss, greed, rage, cruelty, sacrifice and generosity.. And it wrote about my parents, how they would meet and what they would be, and it wrote my name, and I was not written to the time of incredible heights, nor incredible lows, but I was written into now. So I neither cry for days of past victory, nor fear days of future loss, for all that is written shall come to pass. Rather, my concern is to be patient upon harm, and grateful upon blessings, and that I be in one state or the other until my story is through... For the pen has been lifted, and the ink has dried. -Ammar
