Bnei Akiva in UK has always known that it HAS to transcend politics in order to continue the great work it does inspiring young British Jews to love Judaism and Israel. I remember when our delegation to World Veida in 1992 walked out or threatened to walk out when there was a proposal to explicitly support eretz yisrael hashlema. Not because there werent people who believed that but because we realized that our role as Jewish educators meant that this issue was moot and irrelevant. And this is the reason why Israel is full of British Jews who grew up with in the movement and who now live in many different places and different lifestyles but united in a strong Jewish identity and love of Israel.
