Boarding at 22nm ENE of Pulau Tenggul, Malaysia. On the 23rd September, eight pirates wearing masks, armed with a hand gun and long knives, in a high speed craft, approached and boarded an offshore supply tug underway, some 22nm ENE of Palau Tenggul, Malaysia. They took hostage all crew members, tied them up and stole their personal belongings. After about three hours, the pirates left the vessel. The crew managed to free themselves and the Master reported the incident to the owners. The vessel returned to the port of departure, where the Authorities boarded the vessel for investigation. The Master reports a possibility of a mother vessel in the vicinity. Allmode would advise that all vessels transiting the eastern coast of Malaysia, increase their vigilance. If a mother ship is in the area, attacks and boardings are possible far out to sea, with little scope of detection.
