Bodybuilding Coaches: Boundaries, Boundaries, - TopicsExpress

Bodybuilding Coaches: Boundaries, Boundaries, Boundaries... One of the toughest things about fitness coaching someone is having to drop them... But, there comes a point with some people where its absolutely necessary. If you dont, they will NEVER learn. Then again, some never will. Unfortunately, had to do this last night to someone I really like a lot as a person. This particular client was never really ON. This client made constant excuses as to why they couldnt stay on track with their diet and of why training couldnt be done correctly. This client started 3 months ago. ON POINT - #NotEvenOnce and made virtually ZERO progress. Checkins were sent for the first month. Then, not sent again for 3 weeks (should have been dropped at that time). First one after the 3 weeks was sent on June 11th and the next, not until July 1. We had a long talk about mindset and the client started communicating again (still not on point with the plan). I hadnt received a checkin since 7/16, nor had I gotten a text/facebook message or phone call (I thought the client quit). Last night, out of the wild blue yonder, this client sends me an email asking me for a new training regimen (without even acknowledging checkins). Client: Hi Laz, Can I please get a new workout. I would like to change it up. ME: I havent gotten a checkin from you in almost a month and out of the blue you write me asking for new training.... Whats up with that? Client: I have had a hard time with the training plan since I received it and have been very discouraged. I am hoping a new plan would help me with the work outs. ***Mind you... This client has multiple years of experience with weights over 10 years.*** ME: You still havent checked in, for four weeks - you arent doing your part. You want me to just write you new training and I have nothing to go by... It doesnt make any sense. We have had numerous phone conversations about your non ability to stick to your plan. You simply havent made the decision to achive your goal and you are past 1/2 way into the time you signed up for. Youve missed checkin in one instance for 3 weeks, and this time its been an entire month and I havent gotten ANY kind of correspondence from you. You have made virtually zero progress in 3 months... This simply boils down to YOU. No matter what your training is, how good your coach is, or what you are able to eat while dieting, until you quit playing victim and take responsibility for what you are doing, you will continue this fitness spiral. As per the stipulations of our agreement (refer to attached screenshot), Im choosing to end our coach/client relationship. I wish you the best of luck in the future with your health and fitness and I hope you will reevaluate your approach to it. Sincerely, -Laz Do not allow people to take your kindness for weakness, and do not cause yourself extra headaches. GAINZ aint for everybody. #MajorGainz OUT ✌️ #LevelUp
