From Susan Fennell: Lords Prayer - part of the Opening of every Brampton City Council Meeting. Yes, I protected this tradition , as Mayor, for many years. Why? Because in Brampton, we are a city that values traditions. Our long-held tradition is saying the Lords Prayer as part of opening every Brampton City Council Meeting. Our Diversity is our strength, and one fact I have always been so proud of, is that in Brampton, we never should have to change one tradition to accommodate another. Instead, we embrace new traditions, while protecting old traditions. People have asked my opinion on this matter. We are a city of strong faith, many faiths. the Lords Prayer is important, and part of our Brampton tradition. Brampton is a city that pre-dates Confederation.. we have many deep-rooted traditions. Going forward, I sincerely hope we value and respect our many traditions, and faiths.
