Hankins MSW, LSW, LCDC III The Voice of Columbus Columbus School Board to close seven schools! Mr. Coleman, I see schools being built around Columbus all the time. I see we are building a new fire station on Greenlawn and how many Cars to Go did the city purchase. Oh, lets not mention the new court house we recently built. And I hear that perhaps a new jail is in the planning stage for downtown Columbus? Are we really prepared to sacrifice the childrens lives, future leaders of Columbus for the name of progress? I am not. A childs education is too high of a cost for a bit of progress. I have personally emailed you twice in hopes that you would see me to talk about the abandoned old school in the bottoms in hopes Iwould be able to help the homeless and start a jobs training program for those that find it difficult to get a job. The schools get millions of dollars per year to educate our children, and still they need to close 7 schools? Where the hell are they spending my tax money at? Someone needs to be held accountable! Someting has been mis-managed here, I will never vote for another levy on my property taxes until; you can give the citizens of Columbus an answer. And by the way, I don;t have school age children. And for the property in the bottoms, seek first the Kingdom of God and all things will be added unto you. Or perhaps going through the eye of a needle seems easier to you. Brian J.
