Bring on the happiness for this mama!!!!! Alittle personal Thrive happiness in our very own home with my son-Brayden!! Last year the teachers were saying they think Brayden should be checked for (adhd) or (add). I however having gone through this 19 yrs ago really didnt want to either accept or want to put my child through all the dr. visits and labeling and all the hoopla that goes with this. Yes I realize something is going on with his learning and yes I realize it is affecting him. When your child comes home from school and is projectile vomiting for 2 hours and then goes immediately to bed all night long. Wakes up the next day and is totally fine. I do realize there is something going on. He would also come home crying and shaking and so upset that he couldnt talk. Let alone he didnt want to talk about what was going on with him. After multiple episodes I finally figured out Brayden was overwelmed at school and scarred to death of doing school work in class with so many children. My heart just ached for him. What do you do when your child cannot learn in a classroom and schools arent equipped to teach one child all alone. Braydens teacher went above and beyond to help him once we figured this out. However it was no long term solutions. So I wanted to try something different I want something less invasive something that wont hinder him but encourage and strengthen him. Not just physically but mentally and spiritualy and let me tell you Brayden is a spontaneous rambunctious energetic kid. But no different then any other boy his age. However when you ask Brayden do something he would forget what it is or what he is to do by the time he got 5 feet from where you asked him. Drove me crazy!!! His body was always 10 feet in front of his brain sorta say. His teacher said he struggled in math and in reading to the point that yes they wanted him to seek the testing for add, adhd. So we did. So he may struggle with math and he may have struggled with reading, however this doesnt mean he cant learn. We all learn in different enviroments in different surroundings and with different people. I want my son to Thrive in life and excell at being who he is not what medication may do. I wanted my son to Thrive and feel as good as I was at this point. And then it HIT US like a TON OF BRICKS> OMG!!!! Do you think a child could take Thrive. My husband and I looked at each other and we did the research and we thought heavily on this. And YES it was the answer, He has been taking Thrive 3 weeks now. He started summer school last week Monday and today I had visited the teacher and she looked at me and said. Do you know why they wanted Brayden to come to summer school? I said yes and she said well he does everything she asks of him and more. She said honestly she uses him to compare other children saying see like Braydens doing it. I just looked at her and broke down in tears!!! I said to her so you mean he counted money for you, he read books to you, and he did his math for you with no arguements no nothing. She said yes. I told her what we chose to do for him instead of the medication. She was absolutely shocked!!!!!! Words cannot express what I have felt today for my son. I do know we still have things to work on. However I can move forward knowing Brayden wont need all those confusing medications and worry about the adverse affects they may have one day. I know he learns better in small groups and I know that there is no dr. out there that can accomodate that. So at this point the school , I and Thrive will move forward in working on that plan of action for his 2nd grade year!!! Now if Brayden is one child in the mix of millions taking meds for mental clarity reasons. If this testimony doesnt help make up your mind then just call me send me a text a facebook msg. whatever it maybe. This stuff is and should be a HUGE DEAL TO ALL. Any parent going through this stuff and there child wouldnt you want to know!!!!!!! As for Brayden, Dave and I were gonna continue with our Thrive and do it all together!!!! So go find your happy!!
