Bukenya For Macufe Cup Debut Kaizer Chiefs’ new signing, Ivan Bukenya, could make his debut for the club in the Macufe Cup later this month. The Siya crew reported in today’s issue of Soccer-Laduma that the Ugandan could face a wait before making his competitive debut for the club as he looks to attain a South African work permit, although he is free to play in friendly encounters. Read: Chiefs Snap Up Bukenya Stuart Baxter is likely to hand the 21-year-old his debut in the game against Celtic on October 13, although he won’t be rushed into competitive action for the Amakhosi. Speaking to the club’s official website Baxter said, “This is part of the process of refreshing the team. Ivan is tall and very strong plus he has age on his side. We are strong at the back and we looked at him as one for the future and also giving us options tactically. “He understands his role in the team as we have described it to him. He is willing to adapt and to take it one step at the time. I am excited to have him as part of the squad. "I will not rush him until we are satisfied that he has adapted to our system as well as the culture in and around the Club. As I said before he arrived I heard good things about him and had an opportunity to look at him in the past month to analyse him and I am satisfied with what I have seen so far.” #xax
