Bullying Bullying has been a problem for way too long, it doesn’t matter where you turn, there it is in one form or another. Rom 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Rom 12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. Rom 12:4 For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: Rom 12:5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. Rom 12:6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; Rom 12:7 Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; Rom 12:8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness. Rom 12:9 Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. Rom 12:10 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; Rom 12:11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord; Rom 12:12 Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer; Rom 12:13 Distributing to the necessity of saints; given to hospitality. Rom 12:14 Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. Rom 12:15 Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. Rom 12:16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. Rom 12:17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. Rom 12:18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. Rom 12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Rom 12:20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Rom 12:21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. Until you’ve been able to walk a mile in the shoes of those you condemn, shut-up, because none of us knows the struggles anyone goes through. After you have walked that mile, shut-up anyway, or you might just find yourself, in their shoes, getting a taste of the same medicine you dealt out. King David was an amazing man of God whose exploits are still being discovered today, King David, a man after God’s heart, really hated bullies. If you carefully read the exploits of David, you’ll see, David was surrounded by bullies of one kind or another, all of his days. David did not sit on his laurels, or turn a blind eye to the problem, he got active and did something about it. Yes David was a ruler, at varying times of some sort or another, but not all of his battles against bullies involved others. We must look deeper in David’s life, there we see as a child, shepherding in the fields, David fought off bears and lions, but his greatest point of recognition would be when he faced Goliath. Odd thing about that battle, though he had an army behind him, none of them were willing to come to his rescue, they ALL cowered in fear, behind him. It wasn’t until the outcome of this exploit that David had any backing what-so-ever! David’s life was explained for us in 1 Samuel 16, all the way to the end of 1 Samuel, and reiterated throughout the old and new testament. What about Nehemiah, who too stood against the bullies of his generation? He not only stood against those who would come against him, attempting to destroy his faith in God, but he did that for all who were under his command. That’s something we all should be doing, standing up against the evil and standing for those whom satan is using mankind to destroy. This is something we now see the younger generations doing, but what about our generation? Are we dead yet? Are we deaf and blind? No, we’re not, and the fear of death should not even enter into our consideration, especially since we know God is in charge of life and death. Num 20:24 Aaron shall be gathered unto his people: for he shall not enter into the land which I have given unto the children of Israel, because ye rebelled against my word at the water of Meribah. Num 20:25 Take Aaron and Eleazar his son, and bring them up unto mount Hor: Num 20:26 And strip Aaron of his garments, and put them upon Eleazar his son: and Aaron shall be gathered unto his people, and shall die there. Num 20:27 And Moses did as the LORD commanded: and they went up into mount Hor in the sight of all the congregation. Num 20:28 And Moses stripped Aaron of his garments, and put them upon Eleazar his son; and Aaron died there in the top of the mount: and Moses and Eleazar came down from the mount. Num 20:29 And when all the congregation saw that Aaron was dead, they mourned for Aaron thirty days, even all the house of Israel. 1Sa 2:6 The LORD killeth, and maketh alive: he bringeth down to the grave, and bringeth up. 1Sa 2:7 The LORD maketh poor, and maketh rich: he bringeth low, and lifteth up. 1Sa 2:8 He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORDS, and he hath set the world upon them. 1Sa 2:9 He will keep the feet of his saints, and the wicked shall be silent in darkness; for by strength shall no man prevail. The following verses are the very reason why God can offer longer lives to those who obey Him from their childhood; Eph 6:1 Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Eph 6:2 Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) Eph 6:3 That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth. On a personal note: I would rather die, fighting for what God calls right and righteous, than to live a short life, in fear. There is a quote out there than can be translated to cover almost any occasion, “it is better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all”. I would rather learn how to live my life by faith than to have never lived at all, for God clearly said; Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. We cannot live by faith, nor can we walk in righteousness, or stand up for God’s way, if we don’t know what God’s way is. How can we ever expect to be able to walk in the authority given to us, if we don’t know or understand that authority? It’s time we put aside our ways, get right with God and His way, live by faith, and fight the good fight of faith against anything not of God. If we don’t repent of doing it our way, we have no right to claim we’re soldiers in God’s army, Amen!!!
