Busy viewing the 2011 version of TTSS and the following is interesting: 1. The atmosphere and the attention to detail is amazing! 2. Bill Haydon is still covering his tea with a saucer. 3. Gary Oldman is good but Sir Alec Guinness is in a different class as George Smiley. (Gary Oldman is one of my favourite actors) 4. The music is great and fits very well. 5. The interaction between Connie and Smiley is very limp and a little forced compared against the BBC version. 6. The set up and shooting of Jim is confusing and does not carry the same searing impact as the BBC version. I will add to this and hopefully we can get a debate going...
