“But he insisted strongly; so they turned in to him and entered his house. Then he made them a feast, and baked unleavened bread, and they ate” (Genesis 19:3, NKJV). Even though Abraham had previously interceded before God on behalf of Lot and his household, there must have been some kind of connection apart from family ties that set their behavior, willingness and readiness to extend hospitality to strangers apart from others. The presence of the Holy Spirit in Abraham and Lot’s hearts coupled with their desire and, willingness to listen to and obey Him made all the difference in their lives and ministry. Imagine this people of God: What would have been the outcome if Lot had not hearkened to the voice of God and extended an invitation to the point of insisting strongly that the angels come into his house that evening? Heavenly Father help us to be sensitive and hospitable to others regardless of past experiences in Jesus’ name. Help us dear LORD to become blessings to others as You have been to us in the name of Jesus, Amen. The Spirit of God in a mans heart is surely more valuable than any quantity of Gold. Thank You LORD for Your Holy Spirit.
