But the people of Simbu, now fired up by the political sacking of their respected MP Kerenga Kua as Attorney General, are awakening like a mighty eagle feeling the sun’s first rays. The humiliation of the sacking of their humble leader Kua without good explanation by the Prime Minister immediately gave the impression that Attorney General Kua had done wrong. The story got into the world headlines and unfairly muddied the name of the Simbu people. Simply reinstating MP Kua, as we know our prime ministerial slime bucket will quickly do if put under enough political pressure, not not adequately compensate for the shame Hon Kua has been put through. And because Hon Kua shows himself to be an honest and honourable man, our slime bucket PM will not be able to quietly buy him off behind the scenes with a big cash payment, as he is prone to do with others. Adequate compensation for the Simbu people comes out of one clear and simple message: Peter O’Neill has to go! The demonstrations recorded in the Post Courier by Simbuans were a delight to read this morning. Even more heartening is that the people of Simbu are not a group to be messed with. When they say enough is enough, truly it will be enough! Their 48 hour ultimatum to the prime minister to step down is something all anti-corruption groups in the country should be echoing. And the people of Simbu are coming out in numbers, regardless of the police verbal intimidation that such gatherings are illegal. Doing something illegal carries a badge of honour when you are breaking an unjust law in the name of justice and in support of your country.
