By Alannah Leahy – EM TV Online Papua New Guinean Christopher Hoerler, a former resident of Australia, was recently released from a 14-year prison sentence in 2000 for torturing and killing his de facto girlfriend’s seven-month-old son, Jordan Anderson-Smith. According to Australian media, Hoerler, an ex-boxer, was released on parole from Sydney’s Long Bay prison in August 14 on the condition of his immediate deportation. Although he was released two years earlier than the end of his sentence in 2016 on good behaviour, Hoerler remained in Australia for a further two months before his deportation. The death of infant Jordan Anderson-Smith was on February 25, 2000 at a party held at his mother’s home in Wagga Wagga, NSW. For unknown reasons, Hoerler bashed the baby to death; reported injuries include a lacerated liver, torn lip and broken ribs. ABC reported that Hoerler hit the infant with so much force that his bottom teeth went through the roof of his mouth. The baby’s toes were also crushed with a clamp. emtv.pg/article.aspx?slug=Baby-killer-deported-from-Australia-now-back-in-PNG
