By Dr. Claud Anderson America’s Black over-class has yet to wake up from “the Dream of the 1960s.” Isn’t it amazing that even though 95% of all the Hispanics now living in this country have been here less than 30 years, they have quickly learned not only to disrespect native Black Americans, but to challenge Blacks socioeconomically, politically and physically. Hispanics know how to demand “unearned benefits’ in this country by “monkeying Blacks” using the broad concepts of minorities, diversity, multi-cultural, and people of color. In 30 years, Hispanics have not only surpassed native Blacks in population percentages (which effectively renders the black vote null and void), but they insist that as the new “majority-minority,” all private and public assistance must pass into their hands first, then they will decide if and what Native Blacks are entitled to receive. No one, not one single Black Civil rights leaders has ever challenged or questioned why Hispanics are classified as a minority, when up until 1970, they were classified as “Whites,” and even today, 98 percent of all Hispanics, on their driver licenses, immigration papers, or in private confessions, call accepted as “Whites.” Since they were the third ethnic and language group to enslave Blacks all around the world, especially in Central and South America, why are they treated as equal to Blacks? I know who are descendants of slaves and victims of a century of Jim Crow semi-slavery, but how do you define a minority? What is a minority? Is a left-handed piano player a minority? How about a hump-back or a one-eyed doctor? If speaking Spanish makes you a minority, why aren’t those who speak French, German, Russian or Greek also minorities? If White women can be classified as minorities, why aren’t Black women getting double benefits for being a “woman” and “Black?” The point is that the civil rights concept of equality and civil rights has been corrupted to benefit everybody except Native Blacks, and this is especially true with Hispanics who love to imitate, compete with and supplant Native Black Americans. Will Black leadership ever learn that civil rights and affirmative action were intended to be corrective actions to correct all the negative, deprecating and subordinating things that society and governments had done to Black Americans. Again, the question is: “When were Hispanics denied access to this nation’s social, economic, political and educational systems by mainstream society and all levels of government?” Yes!! Just like Native Blacks got wiped out in South Florida, they are going to get wiped out in California. Hispanics get five affirmative actions over native Blacks: 1) being an immigrant, while Blacks are non-immigrants; 2) being an ethnic group while Blacks are a racial group; 3) having commercialized Latin culture while Blacks ignore black culture; 4) having a non-English language while Blacks are English speakers; and 5) being classified as White while Blacks are not. Now, that’s how Hispanics are being empowered over Native Blacks.
