CASTING CALL. This is a poetic short film done in an experimental fashion. It is a non-profit project to support the family of Alex Nieto, a young man who was murdered by the SFPD earlier this year. The project will be created in association with Green Eyed Media and the non-profit DetermiNation Media Group. This will be extensively promoted amongst celebrity networks in Los Angeles, and through The California Endowment Media Network. The overall objective of this project is to promote unity between the Black and Latino communities and support families who have lost loved ones to gun violence. Shoot Date is Jan 17th from 6:30am-4pm Audition dates are Jan 5th-Jan 9th at United Roots (2781 Telegraph Ave., Oakland, CA) Role being casted is Alex Nieto, no script, improv mostly. Male lead Latino, Male, 160-200 LBS, 510, Brown Eyes, Dark Brown Hair/Black, Latino features, urban style, lights mustache features. Alex Nieto was a youth case manager and aspiring security guard who wanted to become a prison guard. He was tragically murdered by the SFPD earlier in 2014 while he was eating a burrito. He was carrying a taser gun and was in his security guard uniform and the police killed him. We are making the film to support his family and a larger campaign to unite black and brown communities in the wake of Ferguson.
