CBS Sunday Morning is simply spectacular television. I honestly dont know anyone who doesnt watch it. Its remarkably informative, laid back and above all, even the stories of tragic endings are laced with some sort of hope or a lesson in how can we be better as humans even in the face of devastation. All of that is great, but the real draw....is the lack of slant. The absence of agendas...sensationalized headlines that stretch the truth to sell advertising, develop an addiction of fear based false necessity of terrorism news...hate, anger, racism, strife, bigotry and any other social ill. Its a chance to see that there are others out there who participate in the off beat, who hang on to hope till the very last second and if that hope is dashed, they turn to a new hope to continue. Yes, I am a 40 something and I am a part of what should be a shift in the next ten years of how things are reported. They way we want our news delivered, minus the fear. Yes, life is hard and getting harder...but respite is needed by way of less hype and more hope. As the show closed today, they announced a new partnership with the Smithsonian Channel who will be airing rebroadcasts of the show...and in all honesty, I hope the Smithsonian hangs on to every single report. It would be nice for future generations to see that in 2014 not everyone was nuts. Not everyone believed every word from rush or hannity. Not everyone was swept away by Fox News or msnbc. Thank you to the people at CBS. Your efforts are appreciated
