CENTRALITY OF RIGHTEOUS LIVING IN THE CHRISTIAN FAITH SERIES PART 2 Prepared by Pastor Charles Chanda: Pretoria, South Africa. CHARACTERISTICS OF A LIFE THAT IS VOID OF RIGHTEOUSNESS Rom 3:10-18 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: 11. There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. 12. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. 13. Their throat is an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: 14. Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: 15. Their feet are swift to shed blood: 16. Destruction and misery are in their ways: 17. And the way of peace have they not known: 18. There is no fear of God before their eyes. There is a lot of controversy when it comes to this teaching and I am praying that the Holy Spirit will help me to present it in such a way that even need babies in Christ will understand. I am fully aware that this series may not be as popular as yesterday’s message on September which was read by close to one million people in eight hours. I am wishing that all those people in the various groups where this message was posted observed that all that God has promised us in this month is on condition that you are chasing RIGHTEOUSNESS and hence the reason why God has chosen to give us this series. In a very simple and plain language, righteousness is PRACTICAL CHRISTIAN LIVING. This means that every Christian is expected to live a righteous life but unfortunately this is far from reality in this present dispensation. THE DISCIPLES OF CHRIST FAILED TO LIVE A RIGHTEOUS LIFE TILL CHRIST HAD TO PRAY FOR THEM! • They had a destructive spirit that never cared who got injured or destroyed by their actions . Luk 9:54-56 And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did? 55. But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of. 56. For the Son of man is not come to destroy mens lives, but to save them. And they went to another village. This is really going to surprise many of you including some preachers. This is the greatest problem that the church has today, NOT KNOWING WHAT MANNER OF SPIRIT IS DWELT IN THEM. Once you have that realization, it will help you to live a life that befits a true Christian. It is then clear that someone has to tell just as Christ told his disciples. Then telling alone will not bring this experience as it requires one seeking and thirsting for it. Do you notice that the request of James and John was not ungodly as they took from what Elijah did and yet the Lord had to rebuke them? So many people are living a life worthy of the rebuke of Christ but because of the lack of teaching they go through life without ever realizing their path of error. How many people are busy following the life of Solomon, loving so many women and see nothing wrong in with it? I am praying that through this series, the Lord will beautify our Christian life to such an extent that people will call us CHRISTIANS as they did in Antioch in Jesus Name. Check up in your life or in your church and you will observe that you have destroyed many lives by your holding on to an Old Testament teaching which is worthy of Christ’s rebuke. You have given people wrong counseling because of following a wrong example of respected Old Testament saints. Some of you have taken one portion of the Ten Commandments and have built a doctrine which makes you to feel that you are the only people going to heaven. May the Lord help us in Jesus Name. Remember James and John learnt what they wished should have been done that day from Elijah, the great and might Old Testament prophet. We still have some who have learnt some things that Christ will never approve from Moses Mat 19:7 They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away?. Just think of how accepted divorce has become in the church today? People think there is nothing wrong any longer just because everybody has accepted. That is wrong my friend. Hear what Jesus said: Mat 19:8 He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so. Do you realize that the problem of divorce has nothing to do with what the other person has done but the condition of the hearts of those involved in the marriage. Where there is no righteousness, forgiveness is practically impossible. The heart is so hardened that no amount of preaching on tolerance, patience, forgiveness and love will change it. Divorce is demonic and you as child of God better believe what the spirit is telling you. The moment a Christian succumbs to this demonic action, it will affect life and ministry. You can never be the same again. It is my prayer that those who are being hunted by Satan to fall into this trap will be victorious in Jesus Name. There is no problem in any home whether it be America or Africa or Asia or Australia or Europe that can not be resolved. It is because you have rejected the message of RIGHTEOUSNESS and concentrated on miracles and prosperity that is why the situation is the way it is. May the Lord lead you back to the path of righteousness in Jesus Name? Psa 23:3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his names sake. TO BE CONTINUED TOMORROW.
