CHRISTIANITY; WHERE IS THE LOVE A lot of us may not be that well - TopicsExpress

CHRISTIANITY; WHERE IS THE LOVE A lot of us may not be that well educated, in the history or worldly events. I myself was one of those sixteen year-old dummies; who quit school while I was smart enough already. I trudged down some pretty hard roads in my lifetime, each of them because of my own choices. Back then I could have been cast for “Dumb & Dumber” I could have played both parts! Lucky for me I was saved at the age of twenty-four, and God placed a Christian woman in my life. Back in the seventies she became my wife. At her insistence at the age of thirty, I got my G.E.D. Not a whole lot of education came with it back then, my reading comprehension was high enough for me to get it. I could not spell, knew very little math and nothing about history or any thing else. I remember thinking that this was so unfair, our kids struggle for four years for what I got in about a week. But, this is not what I wish to talk about now. We hear of Tierney, capitalism and communism on foreign soil, yet when the Viet Nam refugees fled to America a lot of supposed to be Christian people showed some real colors during those times. Wishing them to return to sure death and prison. I remember listening to a Christian broadcast here in Panama City. Christians were calling in and giving these poor people down the road! According to these Christians they were not welcome in Panama City. I was mad and up set1 The wife and I were traveling down the road and I told her; “God did not just create this USA he created them people too! I had not been saved long, but told her if I could just get to a phone! I had no idea of what I might say, but as a new Christian I just knew in my heart that this was wrong. About that time my pastor Brother Jerry Chadwick got on the phone and lowered the boom! He said hone, if your bowels of compassion is shut up toward your fellow man, how dwelleth the love of God?” I like to have shouted right there in the truck. His words shut that call in show down! We seem to think that because we are Americans, that we are some how above the rest of the world. We have this idea that some how, because Christ gave his life for us, that he will protect us from all evils. I remind you that God blesses the obedient of his children. Do not misunderstand what I am saying here. We are all his creation no matter our belief our color or our race. And he did not give his life for America only! That is what a lot of folks need to realize! God created it all, the whole universe! And every thing, every person, animal and plant! Believe what you wish we are all God’s by his design. Because some of us are saved and others are not is a situation of choice. And not just a matter to chose to accept or not too. As Christians we are to love, we are to have some compassion. When we climb up on our soapboxes and point a finger, accuse and name call we show NO LOVE. Hate of any magnitude is not of God. Despite what you think, if hate exist in your heart, you simply have not the Love of God. You can claim what you want but the evidence is absent! I said all that to say this, Israel is God’s own people, no matter where else we may hail from, as Born again Christians, we are just grafted into that mercy and Grace through Christ Jesus. To walk around this life with the freedom we have, and not be concerned about what is going on over there with our Brothers and Sisters…. I don’t know what to call it! The spirit of the anti-Christ maybe!? I really don’t know. What I do know and feel is that we as American Christians should consider ourselves as allies of Israel, when they are threatened we should voice our concern, lift up our voices and be heard. Any time in some far away country where a missionary is martyred, or a church is burned down or some one is viscously attacked for having a bible ; the bowels of our compassion should literally be turned inside out! It is not an important thing that you know where Taiwan, or Cambodia is, what is important for you to know that when you hear of these attacks, or the wars and the viciousness of Tierney against God fearing people, your heart should be troubled. The compassion of Christ should have settled some place in your heart. If we are not troubled, or if we can go on as if nothing is wrong well I am just afraid that the blind are some how following the blind. What we witness going on in other countries will soon be on our own shores. Have we not ask for it over a period of time? People, while thumbing their noses at what the good book says, still have the audacity to ask God to bless our Nation. I will never understand the arrogance of any one that can truly be so anti- Jesus and yet fly a banner seeking God’s blessings on us. Maybe in ignorance they act, again I don’t know. The bottom line is this; If, Christian people do not quit acting like the world, and start standing up and reaching out to the lost no matter how dirty or discussing they might be! They too need Jesus, how are we to reach them as we sit in our pews? We are to go out and compel them, believe me they are not going to come to you. So quit the negative, stop pointing the finger and the name calling of those who are living a life unsaved and exposed. Stop being a Christian in word only! The word Christian means to be Christ like. Honestly, from where I sit, often times; Christianity is really hard to see. Brother Don
