CLUB IMPRESSIONS Manav Rachna’s Students say what it feels like to be a part of the Clubs and Extra-Curricular Activities Student: ASISH ARORA, 3rd year, Mechanical Engineering - Apart from equipping me with the skills to run heavy machines and catch small imperfections, college has given a lot more through the student welfare societies. To make a difference, the primary requirement is to be different. Organising and participating in various extra-curricular activities worked for me, particularly theatre. Great theatre is about challenging how we think and encouraging us to fantasise about a world we aspire to. For me, it is the medium to escape from reality and come back to it stronger; to take my voice to people, express myself and fight against the wrongs in the society. These activities keep poking one’s head and hence make us creative. The confidence we gain on stage while we speak, interact or give some speech, shows up in every day life and the positive effects on academics is clearly visible; to the least these activities add certificates to the resume. Student: RAGINI SHARMA, 2nd year BDS, MRDC I belong to ‘Fashionistas’, the fashion society of MRIU. It is one of the most progressive clubs in the campus. Here we have the exposure and support to polish the aspiring model, choreographer and fashion designer in us.We have had ample opportunities to be a part of a number of fashion events both within and outside the college. The support that our faculty shows in us really boosts our confidence. It gives me a great high to walk down the ramp with confidence and flair. At the Society, we believe that Fashion is not just about clothes but a way of expressing yourself without using words. Student: YOGESH KUMAR, 2nd year, CSE Being an active member of Manav Rachna Technical Troupe and other societies, I have learnt lots of technical skills that helped me in developing my personality with a learning attitude. I have been co-ordinating in almost all the events of Students Welfare that has gradually honed my management skills to help me achieve goals of my career. The platform given by Manav Rachna Students Welfare allowed me to interact with students of different faculties and senior members to obtain vital insights. This excellent expansion led to my holistic growth along with other students of Manav Rachna. A sincere thanks to Prof. I.K Kilam (Dean Students Welfare) along with Nidhi Kukreja Ma’m (Co-ordinator Students Welfare) for their support and encouraging the students to participate, co-ordinate in extra curricular activities along with studies. Student: DEBAJIT GUHA - 2nd year Mechanical Engineering, FET Theres one word to describe my experience of being a part of various events in MRIU, and thats awesome. My aim is to become an automotive designer in future and for that, the Arts Club helped me to polish my design skills through many inter and intra college competitions. Prof. I.K.Kilam and Miss Nidhi Kukreja also supported me. The Arts Club is the best platform for young artist in MRIU to exhibit their talent and I suggest the freshers to join it ASAP. Take part in different activities and it will also help you to raise your confidence level. It will further help you in future during your interviews too. AND ALWAYS REMEMBER, WINNING IS NOT IMPORTANT. Student: VARSHA SHARMA, 2nd year FAS, MRIU I am a part of the Dance Society and participate in various events in student development activities. It is such a great feeling and a great way to explore one’s innate talents. I have participated throughout the year in various programmes and have found it very it very useful in showcasing my talent. By joining these extracurricular activities, students can improve their confidence, personality, attitude and skills while at the same time overcome their apprehensions and hesitations.
