CONGRATULATIONS to all involved in the Sound Team ..... The Hobbit: the Desolation of Smaug has been nominated for a 30th Annual Technical Excellence & Creativity (TEC) Award in Outstanding Creative Achievement in the category of Film Sound Production. The TEC Awards was established in 1985 to honor outstanding achievement in professional audio production and product innovation. Hundreds of entries for nomination were reviewed and voted upon by an extensive panel of veteran sound and music industry professionals in the U.S. and abroad. Winners will be determined by online subscribers to Mix, Pro Sound News, Pro Audio Review, Electronic Musician, and members of professional audio and sound production organizations through online voting conducted by an independent company. Voting will take place in December. The winners of the 30th Annual TEC Awards will be announced at a ceremony to be held Saturday evening, January 24, 2015 at the Anaheim Hilton as a special highlight of the NAMM Show, one of the world’s largest music products trade shows. A list of 30th Annual TEC Awards Nominees in Outstanding Creative and Technical Achievement is posted on the TEC Awards website, and will also be published in the TEC Awards Program Book and in NewBay Medias TEC Awards Voters Guide. Nominees will also be featured in a video presentation to be screened at the awards ceremony.
