COWES POLICE SERVICE AREA CRIME REPORT FOR PERIOD 01/12/13 to 31/12/13 ASSAULT - 4 for December (2 for November) - In all incidents an offender has been charged with assault related offences during December. ARSON - Nil for December (Nil for November) PROPERTY DAMAGE - 16 for December (6 for November) - One of the offenders charged with assault related offences has also been charged with wilful damage during December. A number of the damages were committed between 27th and 30th December and involved windows and panel damage to vehicles parked in the street. BURGLARY - 15 for December (7 for November) - Four offenders have been charged with burglary during December. As in previous reports a number of the burglaries were committed on holiday homes/units. Between 7th and 27th December power tools, a ride on mower and other garden appliances were stolen from a shed in Phillip Island Rd, Newhaven. THEFT FROM MOTOR VEHICLE - 12 for December (8 for November) - One offender has been charged with theft from motor vehicle during December. Overnight 28th December two surfboards were stolen from the rear of a vehicle in a car park in Settlement Rd. A number of the thefts were committed on vehicles parked in residential driveways. THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE - 1 for December (Nil for November) - Two dirt bikes were stolen from a burglary in Phillip Island Rd, Newhaven. One is described as a 250cc dirt bike (brand unknown) black and green in colour whilst the other is a 125cc Mongoose dirt bike red in colour. THEFT - 7 for December (5 for November) - Between 1st and 4th December unknown offenders have stolen a heavy railway sleeper garden bench from a property in Beach St, Cowes. Evidence suggests that it would take more than one person to remove the bench. Between 24th December and 13th January a sculpture from a rear yard in Rhyll-Newhaven Rd, Rhyll was stolen.
