Can I do with the ownership of my home as I please? Yes. Unlike Life Right ownership in many retirement estates, you have full ownership of your unit and can therefore bond the unit, make improvements* and sell the unit for your own profit. You can purchase as an investor even if you are not yet 48 years old. *any improvements to the exterior of the unit must be approved by the Trustees before commencement. Can the unit be rented out? Yes, but tenants are subject to the same rules as residents with ownership. A resident must be at least 48 years of age in case of an individual. Should the tenants be a couple, at least one person must be 48 years old. Before signing to purchase a unit or renting the unit out, all prospective owners and tenants must be medically evaluated to ascertain that they are capable of unassisted living. Unless these purchase an Assisted Living unit or are taken up in the Frail Care facility. Our internal sales agents can assist you with sourcing a tenant.
