Can we have an intelligent conversation without insulting one another about our perceptions, misconceptions and the realities of race in America for the purpose of reaching a greater understanding? Why do black and white people see the same set of facts and view them so differently? How has the current racial climate affected your view of race relations and your personal views around race? How do the concepts of racism and white privilege affect the ability to produce equal justice under the law? How has the media helped to foster or to heal the racial divide? This article shows a great divide in perceptions about race between Blacks and Whites. It also shows that the perception held by the majority of Whites polled are much further from statistical reality than the perceptions held by most Blacks polled. What are your thoughts?
