Lewis Tilley, born in Parrot, GA, and the father of Meg Tilley Anderson born in Colorado but now living in the Tilley home in Parrot. Both father and daughter are graduates of well know art schools and both made Art their profession. Widely traveled throughout the world they each draw on their experiences for subject matter. The father Lewis, died in 2005 following a long and successful career in painting, photography, film and print making. Meg followed in her father’s footsteps and is a successful sculptor, jewelry designer, painter, gardner and a musical instrument maker with her husband Bond who is an accomplished musician. Both father and daughter have exhibited their art work throughout the Americas and Europe. Their approach to art is best understood by a quote from Lewis; “Art is man’s greatest form of play”. Meg works with unusual and often common (non-art) materials to fashion her artistic vision. Humor plays a dominant role. She is the recipient of several prestigious art awards. If her father was considered a renaissance man, Meg the daughter easily qualifies as a renaissance woman. The Art Center is a non-profit charitable foundation dedicated to exhibiting the work of outstanding artist and to offering lectures and workshops in alternative healing modalities.
