Challenge #19: Apply Self-Control When Dealing With Anger If anger is dealt with biblically divorce would not be so rampant among Christians. --Dr. Michael Youssef I shared this quote sometime in March, I believe. I found it in my notes today and felt led to share it again but this time urge you to look at it from a different perspective. If anger is dealt with biblically we would have: 1. Less broken hearts among us; 2. Less children feeling unloved; 3. Less lonely souls begging for someone...anyone to show them love; 4. Less people in our mental institutions; 5. No prolonged malice; 6. More healthy and loving relationships; 7. Better leaders to follow; 8. A sense of what true happiness feels and looks like; 9. Less murders taking place; 10. Less court cases on GBH; 11. More fathers in our homes; 12. Less single mothers or fathers trying to do the impossible of training up children on their own; Angry leaders will have angry followers. Whether parents or other leaders, that anger will be passed down to the next generation and the cycle revolves... What will you do about your anger today? Will you let it control you or will you apply self-control. Anger is looked upon as murder in the site of God. It was Cains anger that took the life of his brother Able. That was the first murder to be committed. The challenge for today is to exercise self-control in dealing with the things that makes you angry. Do not allow anger to rule your day. It will cause you to live a life devoid of joy. With no peace inside you will only drive others away from you. Your existence will be a miserable one. Applying self-control is showing love to your neighbour.
