Channel surfing and came upon something about UFO’s. I cannot say that I believe in little green men with big round eyes and heads two times as big as the bodies, but I have seen things. During the afternoon, on November 30, 2007 (I remember the exact date and year because of incidents happening in ’07 and because November thirtieth is the birthday of someone close to me) I drove to our local bank to cash a check. I did not want to go inside, so I sat maybe fifteen cars back within a line that begins with the capacity of approximately five vehicles at the bank’s entrance line/driveway, before the inflow of vehicles has to park, wait and move up along the street passing in front of the bank itself. As vehicles busy at the window complete their transactions and move away, then the line of vehicles waiting in line on the street can move up. The lines can become very long. I sat parked, waiting and watching the people passing by and hoping that the bank tellers were on their toes that day, so that I could hurry it up and be on my way again. Facing west and still in the line of vehicles on the street, waiting to move up and turn into the bank’s two laned drive-through and I looked to the south west sky, which was clear, and something caught my eye. I had to blink twice, because I had glanced to that same area only seconds before and there was nothing there. I spotted an oval-sort-of-egg-shaped, silver-gray object, which appeared huge. It was apparently floating just above the top of a street light positioned in the same direction as the oval object, as pictured in perspective, but the object was obviously a lot further away. The street light is positioned along a street of which the street that I waited on, T-Bones it. The object appeared to blur in-and-out and it was extremely huge and noticeable, so I often wonder if within other vehicles parked in front of and behind me, if others had seen it too. Maybe someone reading this had seen it and will contact me… I will bet that my mouth had actually hung open in surprise, as I looked around from within my pickup truck, looking to see if anyone walked within calling distance, so that I could call them and direct their attention toward the object, when I glanced back and the object had gone; nowhere in sight and I never spotted it again. One year later, but not to the date, Cakes and I were driving back to Browning along Highway 2, at night. We were nearly to Blackfoot heading west toward the mountains, which are approximately twelve miles away. Blackfoot is a tiny community directly east of Browning. Cakes drove, so I had the luxury of looking around. Suddenly, we arrived at a viewpoint of a mountain west of Browning and maybe five miles directly-west of Starr School, another tiny community, but to a slightly north-west direction above Browning. The entire side of that mountain was lit up, as if a forest fire had begun burning and it lit-up the whole side of that mountain. I think that I hollered, cannot remember, but I did tell Cakes to look and we slowed down and voiced our dread of a fire there and hopes of its no being so. That was our first view and I was just about to phone 911 when Cakes told me that with it being so obvious and large, that if there were a firest fire happening there, that our forestry department most likely had already found out, so not wanting to appear foolish, especially with the lit-up mountains’ being so obvious, I chose not to phone-in a heads-up to our police department. The mountain drifted out of sight as we passed by small hills located in between it, us and the highway, but upon entering Browning, we drove through and back, looking in between buildings for assurance and we could still see it, so I was sure that someone had noticed and I retained my decision not to phone. Really strange, because immediately upon getting out of bed the next morning, I began a search for information, news, etc., pertaining to a forest fire upon, or near that mountain, or anywhere within its vicinity; however, nothing, not even a report and after deciding to drive near it, no sign of black, or burn -- not even a noticeable fallen down tree. I worked from January, 1978 until October 10, 1981 when the BIA took over our reservtion’s law enforcement for the first time, as a full time jailer, part time dispatcher and police officer for my tribe. In between my rounds as a jailer, or during the time that I was on patrol in a police vehicle and definitely while filling-in as a dispatcher -- plus having an “inside track” in the workplace rumor mill -- I was always connected in some way to the police radio and telephone, therefore, always informed about the happenings across our reservation. There was an elder lady living along “the bottom,” according to her, which means along Cut Bank Creek, a creek running west to east from the mountains, which passes immediately by Starr School. She would commonly phone police dispatch with excited reports of incidents’ involving strange crafts’ landing, or making very low passes along the creek line, of which she had stated, “was too low for anything that big to be going that low.” Dispatchers, police officers and even the jailers, sorry to say, used to find a good laugh with each-and-every call from her, because that was the only time that she would phone and that was only to make her reports, which was to report “UFO’s”. I do not know, but after seeing the entire side of a mountain all completely lit-up for no reason, with no forest fire happening, or even bing reported there, especially in the same location where the elder lady had pinpointed the strange passers-by’s going to, some twenty some years previously, I am beginning to think that she could have seen something and that there possibly could be something going on in that area… who knows, but if anyone is interested, get ahold of me and if you can travel here, I will be more than happy to take you to that mountain and question relatives of the elder lady who has most likely passed-on-by- now, but be advised, there will be uncertainty pertaining to likely interviews with her living relatives and if decided to visit the mountain itself, a lengthy hike involved. To end this which is probably to you, a strange post, I want to say that Cakes and I saw something a few years back, passing over a house that we used to rent. Looking out of a bedroom window to the west of Browning in the dark and a long, cigar-shaped, dark and silent object suddenly blocked-out the stars. That incident scared the heck out of us as we watched it move by, no higher than the top of a telephone pole and toward the west, towards Starr School and the mountain above it. Another incident happened while a cousin and I were going hunting, before sunrise. I drove and we were travelling east, again along Highway 2. Talking, joking and laughing and something began to appear from over the top of a small hill along the highway. It was so low that it sort of floated from above the hill and over us, blocking-out the early morning stars, making everything completely dark until the last bit of it had passed over; so low that another small hill on the opposite side from where it had come hid its very presence as soon as it passed over us to pass the top of the hill itself. For what it is worth, you decide, but I do honestly feel that we are not alone. ps, A long time adversary of mine wrote to tell me that he thinks that I am “crazy,” because I write of so many diverse incidents and experiences. My response to him: “Hey, I have a mind and there are no fences devised to limit our minds, or separate concepts.”
