Chantal regenerating? From crownweather: Remnants Of Chantal: It appears that the chances are gradually ticking up regarding the chance for Chantal to regenerate in the vicinity of the northwestern Bahamas as early as tomorrow. The GFS model guidance has joined with the Canadian model in forecasting this development in the vicinity of Grand Bahama Island. The GFS model forecasts Chantal to make landfall on the South Carolina coast between Charleston and Myrtle Beach Saturday evening as a tropical storm. The Canadian model guidance is stronger with the landfall and a little further up the coast. The Canadian forecasts Chantal to almost be a hurricane with a landfall near Wilmington, NC on Saturday morning. I will be monitoring this system closely and will have updates as conditions warrant. Reconnaissance aircraft have been scheduled to investigate this system on Friday.
