Chapters 16-20 will be discussed on this thread starting Sunday, January the Fourth 2015. I will start with Chapter 16, where Svasti tells the nun Manapajapati of his time with The Buddha. Losing the Prince was like losing the light of day. You can see how much his presence was to the entire city and especially to those who knew him. Charra returned to the King and Queen in tears. King Suddhodana was in a rage, then confined himself to his quarters for days. His horse did not eat and ended up dying. His presence even before attaining the Way was of great magnitude to his people. I also liked how Svasti was unable to finish his story of have his questions fully answered but when the bell rang for meditation he left with his mind not on the stories, but on the bell, walking with concentration.
