Charleville Half Marathon 2014 The very popular Charleville International Half Marathon took place the weekend gone. It is know for its as flat as your gonna get on Irish roads course. A very well run event that is on most of our calenders for a must do run. No easy feat though as 669 people stood anxiously waiting for the gun. Whats fantastic about running is there is all kinds at it from the elite running a 1:03:58 to the last person on the day that came in 2:30 (still an excellent time). But to be honest it doesnt matter as most of us compete for the love of running, and every one completed the 13.1 mile trek. So hats off to all that took part. A big turnout form our West Limerick AC club running wise and supporting. Mike o Brien was first in for the club in 1:16:39, Mike Brosnahan and Liam Hurrell were in a battle to the end as Mike just got the edge in the end in 1:25:41 and Liam in 1:25:44, Declan O Keeffe 1:29:19, Eoin McAuliffe 1:35:18, Mark Lenihan 1:37:07, John Barrett 1:37:15, Seamus Cawley 1:38:10, Rita Brouder 1:38:32, Liam O sullivan 1:39:56, Ailbhe Healy 1:41:18, Edel Henriques 1:44:54, Kevin ODonoghue 1:46:11, Jp Ahern 1:46:41, Marcella McGrath 1:47, Ide Curtin 1:49:09, Karen O Brien 1:52:16, Audrey O Dwyer 1:54:51, Eileen O Sullivan 1:56:10, Mike Hedderman 2:02:36, Jeni o Regan 2:03:47. The Womans team also finsihed third in the Munster Half-Marathon Championships also. Fantastic times there by all. Well done from all of us at West Limerick AC.
