Charlie Lach is my Dads cousin... (He appears in this video at 1:44, 5:08 and other times...) His father was a millwright here in NJ... He was thinking about joining the army but my grandfather said why dont you join the union and become a union electrician out local 52 with him and my dad and his brother Richard... So he said OK... He did fantastic as an electrician will similar fan fair to my grandfather, everybody wanted to work with Charlie... For good reason to... He was a brilliant electrician and made money for whoever he worked for and treated the guys good... Not many union electricians can say they can pick their job, even some good electricians in the local still cant even within their own territorry... Charlie was off the scales in this respect, he was such a good electrician for his last job he could either be a superintendent at the new Yankees stadium or a superintendent at the new Giants stadium... He chose to stay here in jersey to work on Giants Stadium, the same complex where my dad was the contract manager for beach electric for the brendan byrne arena now the izod center... Thats is the job I was supposed to go to instead lost my job because of corrupt people... I couldve been walking right besides him just like the camerman in this video but probably would have been working with Travis elelctric installing miles of cable tray there at the stadium as Bob Travis (the owner of travis electric, who was an apprentice for my Dad along time ago) had dinner with my dad and charlie and i was supposed to be there at that dinner but I had to work at night at Monarch electric that night... There was talk of me being a foreman for travis at that job... Charlie was no longer wroking for the union when he was a super at Giants stadium... Not having to deal with the unions BS I think had something to do with it... I did get a chance to work with Charlie a little on another project he was a super on the hudson light rail job in Weehaken and union city and north bergen... And he told me some words of wisdom and seeing how the job went under his leadship was also a great rewarding lesson... After that job i went on and did very well to got a mention in a national magazine for my importnant work at the prudential center in newark the devils arena and did a lot of peronal study of the trade and was hoping to work with charlie again at giants stadium to learn some more and apply what i learned and could do...
