Check out some MADFROG girls on the PrepVolleyball site! CONGRATULATIONS LADIES! PREPVOLLEYBALL.COM 2014 DEFENSIVE DANIDES 2ND TEAM Hailey Erickson, Sr, Prince of Peace Christian School (Carrollton, Texas) – Committed to Houston Baptist, the 5-6 Erickson was a captain and leader of the TAPPS 4A State Champion Prince of Peace volleyball team. The First Team All-State performer amassed 560 digs, received 756 serves and recorded 73 aces. She was a finalist for LoneStarVolleyball Small School Player of the Year. “Hailey has a fantastic work ethic and is always challenging her teammates to be better each and every day,” said HS coach Heidi Henke. “She is one of the captains who set the standards for a championship caliber team – and Hailey is dedicated to teaching the younger girls what it takes to be their best—including my two daughters, whom she has coached for the last three years.” “Hailey is a great kid with excellent intangibles,” added MADFROG’s John Critzer. “All she does is win and she’s done it on every team she’s ever been on.” 4TH TEAM Montana Watts, Soph., Boyd (McKinney, Texas) – Watts earned First Team All-District recognition after her record-breaking season for the Broncos in 2013. Her speed and relentless pursuit on defense led to a 1,000-dig season (not a typo), including 54 against 5A quarterfinalist and district rival Plano. A recent SMU commit, Watts also is the libero for the MADFROG 16 Blue team that won Tour of Texas and Lonestar qualifier titles. She is a natural leader with great speed and anticipation and her passion for the game is unyielding. “Montana is one of the most tenacious defenders I’ve ever seen and one of the best people I’ve ever coached,” MADFROG’s John Critzer said. 6TH TEAM Ashley Robert, Fr., McKinney (Texas) – Robert, a finalist for the Prepvolleyball freshman of the year honor, was named newcomer of the year in the Dallas Metroplex. She held the libero jersey for every point of McKinney’s historic playoff run (its first playoff appearance in nearly two decades). Robert had a team-leading 645 digs to go with 48 aces. She plays for the MADFROG 15 Blue team ranked in the top 10 nationally after triple-qualifying in 15 Open with two qualifier victories. “Ashley’s reading ability and fast first step give her tremendous defensive range,” MADFROG’s John Critzer said. “She’s rock-solid on serve-receive and has nerves of steel in big matches.” “Robert is an outstanding athlete who can pass the perfect ball and read a ball like no other,” said MADFROG director Stefanie Rotunno-Samuels. “Her advanced agility and flexibility allow her to reach balls quickly and accurately. Robert is also a highly accomplished sand volleyball player and continues to train and compete in the sand almost year round.” 9TH TEAM Cam Vecera, Jr., Plano West (Plano, Texas) – A First Team All-District performer in 2013, Vecera led the Wolves in digs (324) and serve-receive efficiency (2.2 passing) for the second year in a row. Vecera, who currently is entertaining several Division I scholarship offers, was a 2013 Prepvolleyball Defensive Dandy and has qualified with a MADFROG team in all six of her years with the club. “You will never find a libero with more passion to pursue and dig a ball than Cam,” MADFROG’s John Critzer said. HONORABLE MENTION Megan Lohmiller, Soph., Heath (Rockwall, Texas) – An AAU All American (2012) and First Team All-District performer, Lohmiller had 262 digs, 48 aces, and top-notch ball control for the Area Finalists in 2013.
