Chetan Bhagat wants Mahatma Narendra Modi to take up National Role Celebrity author Chetan Bhagat today urged Narendra Modi to play national role. Bhagat in a function organized by Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Ahmedabad said, while Modi is doing very well in Gujarat, the nation is still left. In his creative style, Bhagat said, “IPL is IPL(state team is state team), but country’s team is country’s team, so you think over it.” Modi was sharing dais with Bhagat, and in his speech later on, Modi cautioned Bhagat in lighter tone that he could face consequences of backing Modi. “When I came to Ahmedabad, I felt Gujaratis posses many qualities but they don’t market it well. They remain quite. But it should be spread. There’s one song ‘chaar baj gaye party abhi baaki abhi’, (similarly) at present one state has done it , but 27 are left,” said Bhagat. When loud cheer and applause filled the auditorium in response to this, Bhagat further added: “You love your CM too much, but( I want to tell) CM sir you are doing well here, this is only one state and 27 are still left. We wish there could be many good leaders, but we don’t have. So IPL is IPL, and country’s team is country’s team. You think over it, rest of the things you will understand anyway.” Bhagat said there are three reasons because of which he feels special about Gujarat. The first reason is that this is the place where he met his wife, thanks to which he has two sons. Second reason Bhagat said is Gujarati food that he likes very much, “and in this city(Ahmedabad) one can’t stay on dieting. Therefore I had a dinner at Vishala during this visit”. The third reason Bhagat said was the values followed by Gujarati people that are similar to what he believes in. “I want to spread values that are found in the people of Gujarat through my books – the values such as entrepreneurship, adventure and having faith in God,” Bhagat said. When starting his speech Bhagat said, “I feel little nervous because I am sharing stage with country’s best speaker Narendra Modi.” Later Gujarat minister Saurabh Patel in his speech said in this reference that Modi is not only the best speaker, but the best administrator in the country.
