I strongly urge you to not fall for any rumors enjoy unless backed by laboratory evidence” It is pertinent to say that any negative news, even if ill-founded, does create doubt in the minds of poultry consumers which is a very sensitive issue concerning consumption of these items and adversely affects, in a big way, this essential items industry and needs to be properly addressed to. The Association lauds the support of, the Chandigarh administration, to not impose any restrictions/ban on the use/import of these items into the city, following the rumors of bird flu. So in substance, the hype created in the minds of poultry products lovers, because of ill-founded spread of bird flu rumors, has been dispelled. It definitely come as a big respite to both consumers who are in the celebratory mood during this holiday season and the producers whose livelihood can be severely effected due to such rumors. Precautionary Advisory: Viruses, if any including bird flu, are completely killed on adequately cooking the poultry products at a temperature of more than 70 degrees. For most of the Indian delicacies we cook at temperatures much above 70 degrees Celsius, automatically giving us protection from any viruses.
