Chinese star Gao Yuanyuan ties the knot with Mark Chao The wedding ceremony of Chinese actress Gao Yuanyuan and Taiwanese actor Mark Zhao was held on Friday in Taiwan, prompting general chaos, tears and “love heart” emoticons across Chinese social sites. The wedding has gathered showbiz stardom from across the Taiwan Strait, featuring Chinese film director Chen Kaige as the couple’s marriage witness and Jacky Wu, a TV presenter from Taiwan, as the wedding host. More than 200 actors, actresses and social celebrities attended their wedding. Gao, who is seven years older than her spouse, was a Beijing-born actress who rose to fame starring in a controversial ‘kissing’ advertisement in 2000. After that, she routinely appeared in different TV series and movies before becoming a popular actress in China. Born into a performance family, Mark Zhao a Taiwanese actor, reportedly began an intimate relationship with Gao in early 2012. The two registered their marriage in June.
