Chinese universities are launching several initiatives to internationalize Chinese social science, encouraging its scholars to publish in quality English-language publications and (more adventurously) launching English-language journals. The Shanghai Institutes for International Studies (SIIS), one of Chinas top think tanks, is pioneering this strategy by launching its flagship journal, the China Quarterly of International Strategy Studies (CQISS), in English. I am honored to join the journals board, along with colleagues from different regions of the world.
