Chris is much more alert today. That is great for all of us however the down side is that he is more easily startled and frustrated. As most of you know, the idea of laying still and not doing anything does not fit too well with him. Since we are trying to keep him calm again we had to make the decision to not have any visitors again today. We hope that will speed up the recovery process and he will be able to get the breathing tube out and he will be able to talk. Im sure that he has a lot to say to his family and his shipmates. They are constantly trying to balance the medications to eliminate pain but yet making him work harder to improve lung function. The staff at Queen Medical Center are some of the most caring people I have ever seen. Chris is in excellent hands. I will try to post again later. John & Janet
