Christ Family Devotional Guide by Ps. Bright Theme: The Freedom of Confession. “Have mercy upon me, O God, according to your lovingkindness; according to the multitude of your tender mercies, blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.”Ps. 51:1-2. A certain pupil had always been beaten at school for staining his school uniform. The child repeated the same mistake daily because he got punished but not corrected by the teacher. He comes home in moody silence but never told the mother when she asked, “why?” He fears she will beat him further. One day she told him, “Confess your faults because you always come home in pain.” He told her his problem. The mother said, “Son! You live in fear and pain for nothing because your problem is so small for me to solve.” She said, “Wear two uniforms to school every day; when the top one is stained, remove it and put it in your bag; leave the under one to be on you; bring the stained one home to be washed. Since then, the child had no more been punished for staining his dress. Beloved, you live in fear and always scared because of sin for nothing. The world hurts and put you in severe pain without any correction. Never remain under the bondage of sin, confess and repent. The blood of Jesus has cleansing power than any detergent to thoroughly wash you from sin. A dirty cloth goes through water and becomes clean; so as a sinner goes through His blood and becomes righteous. Meditation: “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1Jh. 1:8-9. Declaration: Dear LORD, I (full name), today, I come before your throne of grace, forgive me of all known and unknown sins, (mention, if remembered) and have mercy upon me in Jesus Christ name!!! Prayer: Daddy LORD, I join the above confession and we plead for forgiveness of our sins in Jesus Christ name. Amen! Believe your sins are forgiven and live your life for Christ.
