Cinder was attacked by a kamakazi squirrel this morning! We were on a morning walk down at Keizer Rapids park on the trails when Cinder got on a scent. She had her nose up in the air and trotted around a slight bend and came on a big fat Fox squirrel. The only tree available for safety was a small one, more of a big shrub and Cinder was right next to it. The Fox squirrel charged right at her, zipped by Cinder missing her by about a foot and right up the tree. Cinder couldnt believe her luck and dancing around the tree. Well the squirrel decided it wanted to get to a bigger tree on the other side of the trail and I dont know if it tried to make it and couldnt or decided that it wouldnt be able to make the jump. The next thing I saw was the Fox squirrel coming out of the tree and ricochet off of Cinders nose, then high tail it across the trail and up the trunk of a large cottonwood. The squirrel coming at Cinder like that distracted her enough for the squirrel to make its escape.
