Cold. This image was shot from our boat (a converted Russian Research Vessel with a strengthened hull) on the Antarctic Peninsular, during the first Antarctic expedition I completed, In the steps of Earnest Shackleton (an Antarctic explorer) These two zodiacs are the rubber dinghies that ferry us passengers from ship to shore. On this trip (Ive been down to Antarctica twice) the crew were Russian, and these two zodiac drivers, Vladimir and Sasha were having a race! The passengers were safely back on the ship, I may add! If you fall in this water, you survive for maybe 5 mins and then youre a goner. Its THAT cold! (Scanned from a transparency)
