College grads are less likely to be religious, right? Not anymore! A recent study revealed that college grads born after the 1950s have the same or an even higher rate of religious affiliation than those the same age without a college education. It should be noted that this is the first generation in Protestant America for whom it was normal to have a pastor who had a graduate degree. In other words, they were the first generation to consistently experience an intellectually vibrant faith. It appears that we have yet one more reason to value an intellectually-rigorous and spiritually vibrant theological education... and to make sure that the next generation does not experience something less than this.
