Commitment THE DAY’S WORD Proverbs 16:3 Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established. THE DAYS WORD Once upon a time a missionary society wrote a letter to the iconic and legendary David Livingstone and asked, Have you found a good road to where you are? If so, we want to know how to send other men to join you. David Livingstone wrote back to them and said, If you have men who will come only if they know there is a good road, I dont want them. I want men who will come if there is no road at all, men who are committed. You can never accomplish anything of significance in life without first being committed. To be committed involves fulfilling a responsibility, pledge, resolution or determination. How committed are you towards what you have set out to accomplish? Commitment towards something requires a great sense of responsibility and unwavering determination. Commitment means remaining faithful and focused on the set target, irrespective of the challenges you may face along the way. David Livingstone travelled across Africa. He was exposed to malaria, dysentery, sleeping sickness and other tropical diseases but he survived. He established good relationships with several local tribal chiefs and spoke several African languages fluently. His commitment towards discovering Africa and its diverse cultures was second to none. Commitment is what separates the ordinary men from the extraordinary men. One man once said, It takes a deep commitment to change and an even deeper commitment to grow.
