Common Core Academic Quality, Rigor and International Benchmarking Though Common core proponents claim that, by the standards, all students will graduate better equipped to compete in the global marketplace, research reveals that the standards are academically of lower quality that current state standards. In fact, a study performed by the Fordham Institute suggests that the Common Core math standards are inferior to Florids current standards.
