Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT) in Road Town and Purcell tested their call-out procedures on Thursday and joined forces to fill sand bags which were then distributed to residents of Purcell who are particularly vulnerable to flooding. It was the teams first active duty since their training earlier this years by the BVI Red Cross and the DDM. CERT teams are designed to build resiliency in communities across the BVI as the trained volunteers help to bolster the network of emergency first responders.
