Community Groups Organize to Observe National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day on February 7 In observance of National Black AIDS/HIV Awareness Day on Friday, February 7, 2014, WJAB 90.9 FM, Community Faith Partners, CoffeeHouse Poets, ArtNSoul Society of Expression, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Kappa Iota Chapter, and others have coordinated poetic flash mob performances and testing campaigns at several locations to raise public awareness about HIV/AIDS. These events are free and open to the public. Please notify Joy Sidney at jsidne256@gmail by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, February 3, if you are interested in participating in the poetic flash mob. The flash mob performance poem is under two minutes and free of profanity and offensive language. Partners will immediately disperse when the poem has ended. Participants are asked to wear red or black and carry signs with statistical facts from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention concerning HIV and AIDS.
