Complete Guideline for Karachi University Admissions 2014-2015. Last year (2014-2015) admissions was conducted by NTS But according to University of Karachi Management Admissions (2015-2016) will be conducted by NTS. Therefore, I’m going to let you know the old process of admission, it might be possible this process will be followed this year too or new policies will be introduced at the time of announcing admissions, don’t take these details as final pattern, it is just for guidance. First of all Have a look to the Prospectus (2013-2014). Each and Everything is already mentioned in Prospectus (you can download prospectus from Official Website of Karachi University), kindly go through the Prospectus First, before asking/posting any query that is already mentioned in Prospectus. There are some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQS) about Karachi University Admissions. 1-When admissions will be announced? Answer: UOK will announce admissions in Nov 2014. (All Bachelors & Masters – Morning), While Evening Admissions will be announced after Morning admissions. 2-Calculation of Inter Percentage and Test? Test will be conducted by NTS. Passing marks 50. You have to clear the test and you must have goods in inter. Your test score will not count a lot. Its all about highest marks in inter. NOTE: This criterion was followed in admissions 2014-2015. 3-What is Open Merit? Answer: These are departments in which you’ll get admission on your Inter percentage. You just have to fill the form and you’ll get admission if that department’s closing percentage resides within your Inter percentage. 4-What is Closing Percentage? Answer: These are percentages on which a particular department is closed. (Example: 500 students applied for English, but this departs have only 100 seats. Let suppose, the topper applied has 70%, University of Karachi will start count down from 70% and will stop when 100 seats are full. Suppose 100 seats are full at 65%, then 65 will be the closing percentage of this department). 5-What would be Merit this Year? Answer: It is most likely expected closing percentages will be as same as below closing percentages, with a difference of +-5%. 6-Can i Apply in Karachi University? Answer: Eligibility to apply for admission in University of Karachi. A) Pharmacy = 60% (Inter – Morning & Evening) B) BSCS/BSSE = 55% (Inter – Morning & Evening) All other departments: Inter % should be greater than 45, otherwise you’re not eligible to apply for UOK. 7-From where I can take help for Test? Answer: Just revise your Inter (1st & 2nd year subjects) and have basic General knowledge. You’ll be having same as you studied in Inter (But it will be finally decided when admissions will be announced). 8-Calculators are allowed? Answer: No. 9-What about Negative Marking? Answer: No Negative marking. (But Chemical Engineering has Negative Marking.) Note: Karachi University Admissions 2015-2016 would be announced by mid of November.
