Concept #2 GeoPolitics: Everybody Wants to Rule the World Centers of power naturally congregate towards agricultural density (red circles), which equates to cities, and more specialized classes. As history unfolded the dense zones remained isolated: China, India, USA, Central Europe (Poland / Ukraine / Russia). On the EurAsian continent, dominance goes to the heartland (Central Europe) due to its buffer zones, not being open to oceanic invasion, and since its climate was more cold more innovation was spurred. So: control the heartland of Eurasia and control the world, and they fought for it: Ottomans, Islam, Christianity, Napoleon and Nazis till, the emergence of the USA and the fact it was able to unite coast to coast, and if it could control the oceans it rules the world. So, control the oceans (blue circles) and rule the world. Thus USA grand strategy is to keep the world off balance so it cannot unite and challenge for oceanic supremacy (WW1, WW2, Korea, Vietnam, the Terror War). Yes, the USA sows discord to prevent any one entity in Asia or Europe from uniting, growing a great Navy and challenging.
